To contribute news or announcements, or simply say "mahalo" to those who have made an impact on our community, please contact the Chamber.

In an effort to raise awareness of the inaccessibility of mail delivery services in Ocean View and other areas of Ka'u, we are instituting a petition online, that we can submit to our elected representatives to let them know how important this issue is to Ocean View and Ka'u residents.

If you would like to participate by signing the petition, please fill in this form:

POST OFFICE PETITION: "I, the undersigned, support the creation of a larger and permanent Postal Facility for Ocean View, with enough postal boxes to supply the rapidly-expanding population in Ka'u District. Currently, residents of Ocean View have to wait months or years for a post office box to become available, and some are still waiting. I say it's time we had our own Post Office of adequate capacity in Ocean View. " Signed:

Ocean View Youth Group Volunteer Cleanup

"Malama Aina Community Cleanup Day"

The Ocean View Youth Group, along with Officer Bill Doar from the Ka`u Police Station picked up litter at the Scenic Outlook just South of Ocean View. This spot is a very popular stopping point for tourists. After Bill started counting the cigarette butts he was picking up, the kids started doing the same and they say that they each picked up at least 200! Now you can actually see the lava rocks. They did a great job and the community is very grateful!
