Welcome to Ka'u, Hawaii

View of South Point - The Southernmost
point in the USA |
The Southernmost District in the USA, home of the Ka'u
Chamber of Commerce.
For those of you who are not familiar with
the Islands
of Hawaii, the district of Ka'u (pronounced "kah-oo") is located on the South side of the Big
Island, approximately one hour
and ten minutes from Kona on
the West side and approximately one hour from Hilo on the
East side. We are about one hour from Hawaii Volcanoes
National Park, home
of Kilauea Volcano, and now Ocean View sits right next to
the new extension of Volcanoes National Park, the
Kahuku Extension. Access to this new area is available
only on special Open Park days until the new road and gate
are completed, in the upcoming years.
As the main population center of Ka'u, Ocean View (made up of seven subdivisions)
serves as an excellent base for district growth. There are significant signs of growth everywhere. Existing businesses
are expanding, a
wider range of businesses are coming in, residential real estate is booming,
and County and State investment is up.
In this pivotal time, the
Ka'u Chamber of Commerce is exploring new ways to
serve this growth.
Our website extends the mission of the Ka'u Chamber of Commerce to foster continuing growth of successful business, civic pride and community involvement in our Ka'u District.
We hope you find your visit to the Chamber website informative and enjoyable and that you will visit us again soon.
